Renewal in The Midst of Action

“Some things just hurt.”

Sharon Salzberg

To centre ourselves, to create a space of awareness, to show compassion to ourselves and others, to integrate both good and bad experiences of our lives is all one massive task.

The good news is we have loving teachers who can point us in the right direction.

Sharon Salzberg is one of them.

In my article, what I want to do is share a double recommendation with you.

One, these are Sharon teachings themselves.

Sharon is a Buddhist teacher who is called one of the people who “brought Buddhism to the West”, together with (my beloved) Jack Kornfield, and Joseph Goldstein.

In 1976, they opened Insight Meditation Society, a retreat centre that in its 45-year-long history has hosted numerous retreats and world’s prominent mindfulness teachers.

Two, that is On Being with Krista Tippett, a podcast that will warm your heart and restore your faith in humanity. Krista Tippett is an award-winning journalist and it doesn’t take you long to see why, once you start listening to her.

The podcast episode below is an intersection of these two recommendations.

It’s on our human condition, the river of emotions, and how to find healing in all of this.

I hope you enjoy it.

My name is Justina

As a political commentator who talks about different forms and systems of external oppression, I’m also interested in my own personal transformation.

In this platform, I share with you tools, frameworks, authors, and anything of value I have found to lead a life of authenticity.

Imperfectly – oh yes? And with silliness where appropriate (well, or not).
