IT TOOK ME YEARS TO UNDERSTAND:
Collective liberation has many perspectives.
Only doing the inner work – separately, in our atomic households – won’t be enough.
We need community. We need connection. We need to take various collective actions to fight oppression where we see it.
But there’s that inner work, too. Profound. Slow. Rarely easy. Never comfortable.
But always always always worth it.
As a political commentator who talks about different forms and systems of external oppression, I’m also interested in my own personal transformation. In this platform, I share with you tools, frameworks, authors, and anything of value I have found to lead a life of authenticity.
Imperfectly, yes – but to do it any way.

Ireland: a long-awaited apology
The first time I visited Ireland was back in 2007, the summer before my freshman year in college (yes, now you can more or less successfully calculate my age). “Ah, finally, after all those years of English, I’m going to an English-speaking country for the first time…” I thought, naively, hoping to understand people around…

Attention, Detention
“I know why she’s here: she has a dangerous amount of shoes in her suitcase” – a man pointed to a young girl, probably his relative, resulting in laughs – or smiles at least – in the waiting hall in Ben Gurion airport. That waiting hall, interestingly, was not the one you get into after…

End of the Year Friend-o-hon a.k.a. That One Way How Money Can Buy Happiness
I know it’s the end of January and reflecting on 2013 seems somehow…too late (yeah, no more thoughts of what has happened in the past!). And yet, since ‘less procrastination’ didn’t make it on my new year’s resolution list (making the list haven’t made it to my previous list so it’s not a real thing),…

It’s All About Kindness, Isn’t It?
A good friend recently interviewed me about my not-so-recent time in Thailand. There were plenty of cases of going off on tangents, of course, us remembering our summer and planning some sweet time ahead. Her last question, however, was back to the point. She asked me about the things I’ve learnt during my stay. Not…

A Great Leap to the East (OK, it’s not that great, not that much to the East either)
I’m glad I’ve been procrastinating and brewing some ideas for this entry, since I’ve read a great article (http://thoughtcatalog.com/2012/what-happens-when-you-live-abroad/) recently which caused a lot of self-analysis and reflections. It’s a really interesting phenomenon: this piece is well written, it presents beautiful ideas, and I think for some people reading it can be a truly transformational experience.…

Look, a meaningless post!
Although I have dedicated one blog entry to my time home and could technically calmly proceed with something that resembles actual updates of what I’m doing now, there is one more thing I want to share with you. It’s always more about me wanting to tell people stuff than others waiting for these pseudo-insights of…
